Veterinary Technician
Hello! My name is Jerika’ and I was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, but I mostly grew up in Orlando, FL. I was eager to begin my career in veterinary medicine, as I’ve always had a love for animals and a passion for medicine.
I joined the Page Animal Wellness staff in February of 2024; however, I have been working in vet medicine since 2020. I moved to Page in part to elevate my education through continued hands-on experience and to finish my undergraduate prerequisites, all of which were to progress towards my impending attendance to a vet school, as I wish to become a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. My specific interests within veterinary medicine lie with wildlife and exotic animals.
My formal education and training were conducted primarily at: The University of Central Florida, The University of Arizona, and Pima Medical Institute for my associate’s degree. I am currently enrolled at Unity Environmental University to finish the prerequisite preparations for vet school. My certifications include a Fear Free Certification and being a fully certified Veterinary Technician. I currently have 4 cats, 2 dogs, 2 leopard geckos, a growing fish tank, and one human (husband). One of the coolest things I’ve ever done was to perform in The Bernstein Mass, which was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a musician.
